How to order Customized Items

Understanding Image Types

Line art is a black and white image with no shades of gray or color. Photograph have shades of gray or color.

Image Quality
Whenever possible please select photos that clearly show the person or object you would like engraved. The better the original photo the better your finished piece will be. If you are sending a digital image please use a 2 megapixel or better camera and the largest setting for JPG files. For best results don’t send photos printed on a home printer, send us the digital image instead. Photo developed or printed at a store is fine.

Orientation
If ordering a marble or granite plaque, or frames select the orientation of the object: Portrait or Landscape. Landscape Portreit

Border Style
If you would like the image to extend to the the edge of the plaque select the option No Border. If you would like a soft edge that fades the edge of the photo to reveal the natural beauty of the stone select the option Soft Border. The third border is an Oval Border.

Image Retouching and Editing Services

Expert photo editing is available at an extra charge. Editing can include; Combining 2 photos into 1 photo, Fix lighting or red eye, Repairing damaged photos, by fixing tears, creases or old faded photos, subject to evaluation by Etched in Stone, Scan and clean a logo from your letterhead, Removing the background of a photo. If you would like image editing services.

There is also an additional charge for photographs based on the size of the photograph. We also offer religious symbols and
other graphics for an additional charge.

TEXT SELECTIONS
Text can be added to most engraved items. Some items are designed for text only while others can combine both images and text.

Enter # of Characters Included in Price
60 characters are included in some items you order. Some Headstone orders include all wording.  There is an additional charge for photographs, religious symbols and artwork based on the size of the image.  The 18” x 12” and 18” x 24” headstones do not include any wording.  Wording is based on the Characters.

Characters Over Limit
We will calculate any additional cost for you. 1 - 30, 31 - 99, 100-150. More than 150 will be a calculated based on the item.

Rush Service
We can make selected orders if available from stock in 8-14 business days at an additional cost of 20% on item. A 3-7 business days rush service is available for an additional 30%. Please note that this service may be limited during holiday seasons.
